The Free Tier applies to a specific amount of usage each month. The AWS Free Tier is divided into three types of pricing model, a 12-month Free Tier, Short term trails, and an Always free offer. The AWS Free Tier is available for everyone - students, small businesses, and entrepreneurs. The AWS Free Tier is available to each new account created on or after 21 OCT, 2010.

  • 750 hours of Amazon RDS single-AZ Micro DB Instance,  SQL Server Edition. You also get 20 GB of Backup Storage and 20 GB of Database Storage.
  • 2000 put requests and 20,000 Get requests and 5 GB of Amazon S3 Standard Storage.
  • 1 GB of storage and 25 Amazon SimpleDB Machine Hours.
  • For Amazon Simple Queue Service 1 Million requests are available.
  • 1 Million for Http notifications and also 1 Million Requests for Amazon Simple Notification Service.
  • 15 Gb Bandwidth for all AWS Services.

Monitor AWS Free Usage Tier?


After getting AWS Free Tier you will get Free Credits to use AWS resources and until credits are finished you will not charge any bill.

In Addition, AWS has brought new features to the Billing and Cost Management dashboard to help user to track AWS usage. AWS Free Tier credits can be used for All AWS Services. Limits on AWS Free Tier


The AWS Free Tier expires after 12 months from the date user signed up. When the Free Tier expires, the User can simply pay for standard, and use pay-as-you services.

SNS (Amazon Simple Notification Service), ADDB (Amazon DynamoDB), ASDB (Amazon SimpleDB),  and ASWS (Amazon Simple Workflow Service) are included in Free Tier.
